The Big Little Swap

About the Big Little Swap

Kids outgrow everything fast. The Big Little Swap is your chance to trade what your family no longer needs for something new to you, while helping other local parents do the same.

Bring freshly washed, gently used children’s clothing and small toys & maternity clothes that are ready for their next home. You’ll leave with fresh finds for your little ones and a little more breathing room at home heading into the holidays.

What to bring:

Clothing

  • Baby to kid sizes welcome (Ages 0-5)

  • Also accepting maternity clothes

  • Must be freshly cleaned and in next-to-new condition

  • Please no stains, rips, or worn-out items

Toys

  • Small toys only (no oversized gear or furniture)

  • Must be clean, complete, and in good working order

  • Think puzzles, books, dolls, blocks, and games

We’re also collecting diapers for the Halifax Diaper Bank.

This local initiative collects boxes and even loose diapers that your kids have outgrown, then redistributes them to families across HRM. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference in keeping babies clean, dry, and comfortable.

Simple, sustainable, and community-powered.

WHY IT MATERS

The Big Little Swap is about connection and care, not consumption.
It’s a way to lighten your load, share what you have, and head into the holidays feeling a little lighter, a little more organized, and a lot more connected.
